How to Create QR Codes for Squarespace Pages (New Feature!)

Did you know Squarespace quietly rolled out a built-in QR code generator? Yep — it’s not flashy, and there’s been almost no official announcement, but it’s there and it works!

This feature lets you generate a QR code for any standard page on your website, right inside the Squarespace editor. It's perfect for marketing, print materials, or even sharing links at events or in-store displays.

Here’s how to use it — and what to watch out for.

🚀 How to Find and Use QR Codes in Squarespace

Step 1: Go to the Page Settings
Start by opening the settings to any standard page on your website. (This won’t work for blog posts, events, portfolio items, etc. — more on that in a second.)

  • On the left side of the page, in your website’s Squarespace menu, click the gear icon to open the page settings.

  • Scroll down under the General section.

Right above the “Enable Page” toggle, you’ll now see a new option labeled QR Code.

Step 2: Enable the QR Code

  • Toggle it on

  • Hover over the QR Code field and click the Download button

That’s it — your QR code is now saved as an image on your computer and ready to use!

🖨️ How to Use the QR Code Image

Once downloaded, your QR code image can be dropped into:

  • Flyers and posters

  • Product packaging

  • Email footers

  • Business cards

  • Canva or Adobe Express for marketing graphics

The QR code links directly to that specific page's URL — super useful for directing customers straight to a signup page, landing page, or promo.

❌ Limitations: Pages That Don’t Support QR Codes (Yet)

This feature only works with standard pages — not collection pages. So if you try to find the QR option on things like:

  • Blog Posts

  • Event Listings

  • Portfolio Projects

  • Video Collections

...you won’t see the QR toggle. Hopefully, Squarespace will expand this to other page types in the future, but for now, it’s a standard page-only tool.

💡 Final Thoughts

It’s a small but super handy update from Squarespace, especially for businesses and creators who want to make sharing links in the real world a little easier.

✅ Quick to access
✅ Doesn’t require external QR code tools
✅ Great for marketing and user experience

If you're a Squarespace Circle member or building client sites, this is just one more tool to make your workflow smoother.
